Spanish Hot Spots

This section is an attempt to list points of interest related to Flamenco and Gypsy History. This will include historical locations, Restaurants and Clubs where Flamenco is performed, and more. This is a Spain-only section.

Córdoba

Granada

  • Internacional Festival de Música y Danza - mid-June to early July, open-air performances of classical and Flamenco.

Jerez De La Frontera

  • Fundacion Flamenca, plaza de San Juan, 8am - 2pm

Madrid

  • Arco de Cuchilleros - C. Cuchilleros, 7. Just off Pl. Mayor. Shows at 10:30pm and 12:30am. For directions and more information, please call (local number): 366 58 67.
  • Patio del Conde Duque - program of Tardes Flamencas.  Summer only as part of the municipal summer entertainment program. This is close to the Plaza de Esaña on Bailén and may be listed under Centro Cultural Conde Duque.
  • Casa Patas - Calle Cañizares C. Cañizares, 10, off Calle Atocha by Plaza Mayor. Shows at midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.  For more information, please call (local number): 369 04 96.
  • Sala Caracol - Tablao Flamenco. Auditorium style.
  • Revolver * - (usually Monday nights) c/Galileo 26 (Metro Quevedo) tel- 594 26 79(Really not to be missed if you love flamenco.)

  • *Note: Covers both pure and nuevo flamenco i n a NON-tourist atmosphere! These venues host occasional "Flamenco Nights" with special guest performers. Both have low cover charges. Thanks to Panos for information on this!
